Tell Your State Senator: Stop the 9–0 Map Power Grab

The Indiana House has already pushed early redistricting forward. Now the fight is in the Indiana Senate — our last chance to stop a mid-decade power grab designed to lock in a 9–0 Congressional map. Your Senator needs to hear from you before they vote.

What’s happening

This isn’t normal redistricting after a Census — it’s an early, mid-decade scheme to redraw Indiana’s Congressional districts years ahead of schedule so politicians can pick their voters instead of voters choosing their leaders.

  • There is no new Census and no new population data. There’s no neutral reason to reopen the maps.
  • Legislative leadership has openly signaled that these maps are designed to move Indiana toward a 9–0 Congressional delegation — 100% of the seats, even though only about 60% of Hoosiers vote Republican.
  • Leaders admit the new maps were drawn by the national Republican Redistricting Trust, but have refused to say who paid for the work or whether public tax dollars were used — raising serious transparency and accountability concerns.
  • Polls show a clear majority of Hoosiers across party lines oppose early redistricting and want stable, predictable districts.

That means a small group of insiders is trying to change the rules mid-game and silence the 40% of Hoosier voters who are already underrepresented on our current maps.

Quick phone script (use your own words)

Hello, my name is [Your Name] and I live in [Your City/ZIP].

I’m calling to urge Senator [Name] to vote NO on any mid-decade redistricting bill that comes before the Senate. Hoosiers did not ask for early redistricting, and we do not want a 9–0 map drawn behind closed doors.

Please oppose any attempt to reopen our Congressional maps before the next Census.

Thank you for your time.

If you reach voicemail, leave this message with your name and callback number. Short calls still count.

Subject: Vote NO on Early Redistricting and the 9–0 Map

Dear Senator [Name],

I’m writing as your constituent because I strongly oppose any attempt to redraw Indiana’s Congressional districts mid-decade. This is not normal redistricting — it’s an election-rigging power grab.

Early redistricting would let political leaders pick their voters instead of voters choosing their leaders. It would undermine trust in our elections, destabilize representation, and further disenfranchise communities that are already underrepresented in Congress. Hoosiers didn’t ask for this, and polling shows voters across party lines oppose reopening the maps early.

Legislative leadership has signaled that this plan is about moving Indiana toward a 9–0 Congressional map, while refusing to clearly disclose who drew the new lines. With no new Census and no neutral, data-driven reason to reopen the maps, this process looks less like fair redistricting and more like changing the rules mid-game.

I’m asking you to reject this scheme and vote NO on any early or mid-cycle redistricting bill. Hoosiers deserve stable, fair maps and a transparent process — not back-room maps designed to lock in one-party control.

Thank you for your time and service,
