Legislative leaders rushed a special session on redistricting — forcing a mid-decade map through the House and now moving the fight to the Indiana Senate. Senate hearings are expected on Monday, December 8. They may not allow time for everyone to testify, or may try to shut public comment down altogether. But most Hoosiers do not want early redistricting, and you deserve to be heard.
This isn’t normal redistricting after the census — it’s an early, mid-decade power grab to redraw Indiana’s Congressional maps years ahead of schedule so politicians can pick their voters instead of voters choosing their leaders.
That means a small group of politicians is trying to silence the majority and drown out the 40% of Hoosier voters whose voices are already underrepresented on our current maps.
If they won’t give everyone a microphone in the Statehouse, we’ll bring Hoosier voices to them anyway.
Together, these stories build a record lawmakers can’t ignore — proof that Hoosiers are paying attention, and that changing the rules mid-game is cheating, not democracy.
Imagine you could talk directly to lawmakers. In 500 words, what would you want to say to Senators and the public?
You don’t have to be a policy expert. The most powerful testimony is honest, specific, and in your own words.
