Data Centers are changing Ohio’s landscape and reshaping our communities in big cities like Columbus and small towns like Clarington.
Today, there are 200 and counting data centers in Ohio - the fifth highest among all the states.
In exchange for generous handouts from statehouse politicians, big tech corporations made big promises for Ohio. While they do create some good construction jobs in the short term, studies show long term job creation is minimal. Meanwhile, they’re driving up our electric bills and draining our fresh water.
Join us to hear from policy experts, local officials and directly impacted residents. We’ll discuss the reasons behind Ohio’s data center boom, the implications for daily lives, and how we can ensure all Ohioans share in any benefits.

Local government shapes more of our daily lives than we often realize. From the schools our kids attend, to the roads we drive on, to what gets built near our neighborhoods, local elected officials make decisions that impact us every day. But how much power do local governments actually have and what happens when cities, states, and the federal governments clash?
Join us for our next Civics Salon to learn what local governments can and can’t do and how those decisions impact your family. If you’ve ever wondered why your city can act on some issues but not others, or why local elections matter so much, this event is the place to get answers. Don't miss this chance to better understand your local government, how to make your voice heard, and how to make an impact in your community.
