Count US IN Election Defenders: Elkhart & St.Joe County In-Person Training Training April 20, 2026 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM ET Elkhart Downtown Branch (Room: Orange/Gray), 300 S 2nd St, Elkhart, IN 46516 Join us for an in-person Election Defender Training designed to prepare community members with the tools and confidence to support voters and protect access to the ballot this Primary Election. This session will cover voter rights, accessibility at the polls, de-escalation strategies, how to identify and respond to voter suppression and intimidation, and ways to provide on-the-ground support as well as spread joy during elections. Anyone can be a defender. This training will prepare you to be a visible, supportive presence at the polls by helping ensure every voter feels safe, informed, and empowered. Election defenders will receive a stipend of $150 for at least 4 hours of support on election day and participating in at least one hour of training.
