Community Schools are a partnership among the City of Philadelphia, the School District of Philadelphia, and school communities to remove barriers to learning and support the success of each student. There are currently 20-City designated Community Schools located throughout the city and include elementary, middle, and high schools.

This orientation is meant for individual volunteers.

Community Schools Grocery Giveaway Volunteer Orientation July 29, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET Zoom-Virtual Our Community Schools order grocery staples for delivery to their schools for students, families, and community members. 16 of our schools have an in-school food pantry and 10 of our schools host weekly grocery giveaways. This orientation goes over volunteer guidelines as well as tips for customer service and food safety. We will also make time to go over paperwork requirements as well.
