Join Poder Latinx and community organization to celebrate Civic Health Month! To celebrate Civic Health Month, we will host our second annual health resource fair. Community members will hear from doctors about the importance of student athletes’ health, the importance of proper nutrients for student athletes, and the importance of clean air.
We should not choose our job over our health or the health of our loved ones. Having access to paid leave is not a luxury, it’s a right to all workers. Workers should have access to paid leave to seek medical attention, provide care for a loved one, and/or bond a new family member.
Student athletes will receive free sport physicals on a first-come, first-served basis. Students of 18 and younger would need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Community members are welcome to seek a doctor for a check up.

In collaboration with Congressman Darren Soto, Poder Latinx is organizing a community Cafecito during the August congressional recess to address the public health and environmental consequences of extreme heat. This roundtable discussion will provide a platform for local partners, volunteers, and community members to exchange personal stories and explore solutions concerning heat-induced health vulnerabilities, community durability, healthcare access, and the rising costs of energy. By facilitating direct engagement between federal officials and their constituents, the gathering seeks to emphasize the intensifying difficulties Florida households encounter as regional temperatures climb. It will be at Congressman's Soto Office, 804 W Bryan St, Kissimmee, FL 34741 .

Poder Latinx and GCV will partner to host National Voter Registration Day at Kennesaw State University to register eligible voters at KSU. Greenlot. During the event, we’ll celebrate Hispanic Heritage month and bring awareness about Georgia's Public Service Commissioner and the midterm elections.
