Through engaging presentations and meaningful dialogue, fellows gained a strong foundational understanding of DNR’s critical role in land stewardship, forest health, wildfire prevention, and fire management strategies. The experience also connected these efforts to the Prescribed Fire Claims Fund legislation and the broader movement toward climate resilience, emphasizing how proactive land management and policy innovation are shaping a safer, more sustainable future for Washington communities.
