Urban Heat Island Press Conference Community Event May 27, 2026 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM ET Join us to share with the Metro Atlanta Area the significance of protecting our city against Urban Heat Islands. We will have communtiy leaders, elected officials in office, and grassroots nonprofits working together to highlight on how the city can prioritize its community again extreme heat. Communities that have experienced decades of disinvestment now have less tree canopy, more pavement, and fewer protections, making them hotter and more vulnerable as climate change accelerates. We know what works: protecting and expanding tree canopy, investing in cooling infrastructure, and prioritizing the communities most at risk. But without sustained investment and intentional policy, the gap will continue to grow. No one should face greater health risks simply because of their ZIP code. Protecting communities from extreme heat must be treated as essential infrastructure, not optional. Please RSVP for location.
