The Boulder County Democratic Party condemns the killing of Renee Nicole Good during a federal immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis and extends its deepest condolences to her family, her child, and all those grieving this devastating loss.
Renee Nicole Good was killed during an ICE operation that never should have ended in the loss of civilian life. This killing is inexcusable. It reflects a dangerous failure of leadership, competence, and accountability within an agency that has repeatedly demonstrated it cannot be trusted to carry out its duties safely or responsibly.
For nearly a year, Americans have seen what happens when government is run by people who are unprepared, unaccountable, and reckless with power. From rising costs to serious national security breaches, incompetence at the top has real consequences — and now a family is paying the ultimate price.
ICE has rapidly expanded its ranks with poorly trained agents and little oversight, creating chaos in communities and putting lives at risk. Masked officers operating without transparency, discipline, or accountability only make communities more dangerous.
Americans deserve the freedom to live in communities where law enforcement protects public safety instead of threatening it. No one should fear losing their life because of a botched or reckless enforcement action. When government fails to meet even basic standards of professionalism and competence, it robs people of their freedom to live safely and with dignity.
Accountability in this case cannot stop with one officer. Responsibility extends to the leadership, policies, and failures that made this tragedy possible. The American people deserve the truth, and they deserve better than an enforcement system defined by chaos, broken promises, and deadly mistakes.
Democrats are fighting for a country where freedom means safety, fairness, and respect for human life. We will continue to demand accountability and real change so that no other family is left asking how something so preventable was allowed to happen.
