Mobilize RuCo to Stop Book Bans! Text Banking March 9, 2026 11:00 AM - March 14, 2026 7:30 PM CT Rutherford County Library Board members are once again targeting LGBT+ books to ban from the shelves. This time, they're focusing a small list of books, such as the "Every Body Book." Help us reach thousands of Rutherford County residents to send emails and show up in person to stop the bans. Tuesday is a text bank to call on residents to send emails and show up in person on 3/16, and Saturday is a phone bank to confirm attendees. These efforts are effective and have stopped book bans before -- join us to stop them again in March!

RCLS Board Meeting 3/16 Training March 16, 2026 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CT Rutherford County Courthouse, S PUBLIC Sq, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 The Rutherford County Library System is meeting once again to vote to ban books from our public libraries - this time targeting more than 190 books with LGBTQ+ themes. Show up in person on Monday, March 16 with librarians, parents, and residents at the RCLS Board Meeting to challenge this attack on free speech and support our local librarians who work so hard to make libraries places that strengthen our communities. Together, we can pressure the library board to stop banning books.

ACLU-TN Volunteer Virtual Gathering Meeting March 24, 2026 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT The ACLU-TN is bringing together Tennesseans from across the state to take action and stop immigration detention center expansion, end book bans in our schools, and fight for our civil liberties. Our Community Engagement Team is hosting a call with ACLU-TN volunteers from across the state to share updates about our campaigns, strategize on ways we can put pressure on our elected officials, and take action together on the call.
